Thank you so much for your generosity! The project has been a resounding success so far and the kids absolutely love working with the Dash Bots you helped provide for them! The kids are learning invaluable computer programming skills and you can see the growth in all subject areas, as their research to get better at computer programming has improved their reading and math scores. They have even surprised me by going online during their free time to read tutorials and have started to teach their grade-level school mates the computer programming skills they've learned so far. This classroom project was brought to life by Verizon and one other donor.

Computer Programming is a new and exciting field and the career opportunities are abundant. However, the two main communities in my school, African Americans and Latinos, are extremely underrepresented in this field. I plan to try and attack this deficit by introducing the students at my school to computer science early. This purchase will help take computer programming instruction to the next level at my school and show these wonderful students that computer programming is an attainable skill that they can use, no matter what career path they choose. Please help if you can! :) The Sphero bots are an exciting new technology that will expose students to a high level of computer programming for their age. They will learn to program this Sphero bot to do a variety of activities and get much needed exposure to computer science.
