• Let's Start the New Year Off With New Equipment

  This project has been a long time in the making. I've been having a lot of student interest about getting a smith machine in the physical education classes. Students were completely shocked when they saw it built the first day they came in to class. The machine has definitely drummed up student participation and interest in working out.

  The volleyballs were also a great addition to the classes. Volleyball is a great sport that a lot of students can all play at the same time which helps to maximize participation with only using 1 piece of equipment.”

• Weight Training Rubber Plates

  Funded Dec 23, 2024

  These weights were an incredible addition to our gym classes. Before these, students did not have a big selection of weight amounts they could use. This is especially important to have different size weights so students can train properly. We also had weights they were damaged and didn't weigh as much as they should.

  Students are also more motivated to work out now with the complete set of weights. I look forward to watching students use the weights for many years to come.

• New Badminton Birdies

  Funded Dec 18, 2024

  These birdies came just in time as our supply was basically empty. We even were borrowing a few from the other physical education teacher in the other school in our building. Badminton helps us students be active in physical education as it's the number one activity.

  Students also like the color as it's easy to see during gameplay as the ceiling is white and it's hard to use the white ones. We look forward to using this new shipment of birdies for the rest of the year and into next year.

• New P.E. Tech!

  Having technology and incorporating it into our physical education classes in a highly effective strategy. It allows for students to demonstrate their understanding of the content when they are physically unable to do so.

  I think that students are most excited to use the technology because they can become extra creative in ways to use technology in the physical education classes. For example, a student used a website to create a fitness plan based on the materials we have in class. Students at my schools genuinely feel more comfortable with technology than in years past.”

• New Year, New Gear!

  This equipment is another absolute essential in our physical education program. Our old bench press is very old and could become a safety hazard if we don't take it out of commission soon. Luckily, the new smith machine is not only a bench press, but a complete multi gym. Students were so intrigued when I began to build the machine as I showed them my hard work and dedication to bring such a nice piece of equipment into our school.

  The dodgeballs and volleyballs are also great essentials as they are used as multipurpose balls for all types of games and activities. As you can imagine, our current dodgeball are ripped severely and are just about unusable.”

• New Badminton Equipment and Workstation

  Funded Oct 1, 2024

  The badminton equipment was an excellent project that was successfully funded by all of you. It came at a time when our stock of badminton supplies were extremely low and students were using broken equipment that was held together by duct tape and glue.

  We have a file cabinet in the gym that holds all of our supplies for students to use daily. I stocked the drawer that holds the badminton equipment with all of the new gear. As students began taking out the equipment, they were filled with a great surprise. They were excited and motivated to play badminton for weeks to come.”

• New Basketball Hoop

  Funded Jan 1, 2024

  This basketball hoop is just what we needed. It provides students with the opportunity to build skills and get better. Before having this basketball hoop, we were unable to provide any type of basketball shoot development.

  Because of you, you have made my goal possible to help development and invite all levels of play to take place. I look forward to the many exciting lessons and practices that will be used from this basketball hoop.

  Thank you again for putting many smiles on all of our faces when this delivery came. I was able to set up the hoop for students to use immediately. I look forward to working with donors like you in the future.”

• New Water Fountain

  Funded Dec 27, 2023

  This funded project was a complete surprise to our school community. Students have been using the fountain all week since it was installed. My administration couldn't thank me enough for helping our school community.

  As described in my original post, the water fountain also has helped serve students from others schools who share our building since the location of the fountain is just outside the nurse's office. Again, our students are very thankful there is more options in the building now to find fresh drinking water.”

• Ping Pong Paddles!

  Funded Oct 30, 2023

  This project got funded just in time as we are in the middle of our ping pong season. The team loved seeing the new paddles when the opened the box.

  We can now have paddles that will last us the rest of the season and into the next season. These paddles are high quality and are made to last us for now. We are replacing paddles that were on their last limb.

  I cannot stress how much this means to all of the donors who took time out of their day to help a school in need of new equipment. We are very grateful for all of you!”
