I am excited to have the opportunity to teach fun hands-on activities. I teach many different grade levels so the students will have the opportunity to use the tools available for their grade level. The dry erase/ magnetic easels will be used for all the students to show their thinking. The magnetic pattern blocks can be used for many concepts including fractions. Making arrays is one way to teach multiplication. The students will be able to build an array using the magnetic pieces and write the expression/equation using the dry erase markers. The different colored markers allow the students the ability to highlight different aspects of their work. The size of the easel/dry erase boards make it practical for students to see as we often do a turn and talk or museum walk to view and learn about the thinking of other students. The giant magnetic teaching tools will also allow the students who choose to learn remotely see the lesson much easier. The students in the classroom will be able to use these magnetic tools to show their thinking to the students learning remotely and have a discussion. No matter what grade level I have in my classroom, I do a math talk. The magnetic number of the day and regrouping chart will enable students to represent their thinking in many different ways as they learn. My classroom environment has flexible seating so the stand-up adjustable desk will be beneficial for the students who are presenting their group visual and thinking. Due to that fact that I have many different grade levels in my classroom, we have to share all of these tools. The UV sanitizer bag allows the students to share the markers and other supplies used in a safe manner.
