In our classroom, we engage our love of reading through a Reader's Workshop. Reader's Workshop gives students autonomy to choose texts that interest them to work on goals specific to them. The students gain understanding and ownership of their reading identity, and they develop the skills they need to be lifelong readers! The ability to listen to audio books will enhance their experience. Audio books on tablets engage readers who aren't as excited by reading or don't identify as readers, allow students to read texts that are not traditionally accessible to them, and allow them to hone 21st century learning skills. The charging station and cases will also serve to keep the tablets protected, so they can engage readers for years to come.
