Amazing Fifth Grade Reads!
Funded Aug 27, 2023Thank you so much for your generous donations to our fifth grade library! Because of your selfless contribution, our classroom library has a large collection of books for readers with a range of interests!
During independent reading time, my fifth graders now have so many different choices. From graphic novels and adventure stories to thrilling fantasy and realistic fiction series, there truly is something for everyone! It has been a joy to witness my students enjoying these books, recommending them to others, and searching for their next great read!
Again, I can't express how appreciative I am of your support to our classroom library. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!”

Funded Jun 15, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom! Your support funded necessary supplies, like pencils, a pencil sharpener, erasers, and a mailbox to organize our papers!
These supplies are foundational to our classroom, and they are used every single day. Because the basics have been provided to us by your kindness, my students and I can focus on our learning! It is such a comfort knowing that my students will always have sharpened pencils and a way to stay organized when they come to school each day.
Thank you again for your selfless contribution.”

Building Our Library
Funded Oct 21, 2021Thank you so much for your generous contributions and support for our classroom! In our fourth grade ELA and Social Studies block, reading is the heart of our work together. With these new additions to our classroom library, students can enter the worlds of these magical books, meet new characters who they can relate to and learn from, and take away important lessons like the value of friendship, standing up for what they believe, and the importance of being true to themselves.
These books were additions to a classroom library students have access to at all times. They always have a book with them to read during reading workshop, and many of the students ask to borrow books to read after school, on the weekends, and over breaks. Because of your support, our students have a wide range of books to choose from.”

Funded Jun 3, 2019My classroom is absolutely loving our podcasting booths! As you can see, I created a place in the corner for our tools to stay all year. I used a canvas box to create the "booth" and lined the inside with soundproof foam. The microphones stay inside while students are using them, so the sound quality stays high. Students use the over the ear headphones and headphone splitters to listen to (and eventually edit) their audio. Students feel very professional and take their audio work very seriously because it ends up sounding amazing.
Our podcasting booths are filled with such possibility for the classroom. Currently, because it is still the beginning of the year, we have used our podcasting booths to record whole group shared writing and record virtual "time capsules," which are sound bites on how we feel about fourth grade and our goals for the school year. We will pull them out at the end of the year as a reflection tool. I have also started teaching students to record themselves reading and reflecting to work on reading fluency, and they can now respond to online discussion boards in audio format. Eventually, the booths will be used as a medium for publishing full writing pieces, writing and speaking about their reading, presenting science projects, interviewing others for research projects, and connecting with other schools through digital platforms.
Oral language skills are a fundamental part of a balanced literacy curriculum, so uses for our booths are endless. One of my students during choice time even discovered how to record over a slideshow presentation! They are really excited to teach the class about this digital feature for talking about their reading.
Again, thank you so much for supporting this project. It pushes me as an educator to grow the ways I integrate oral speaking opportunities into my curriculum, and it allows students to develop these skills in an authentic and relevant way.”
