Funded Oct 12, 2021My students and I are loving our new class puppet theater and puppets. We use the puppets on a daily basis to introduce letters, numbers, colors, shapes and to promote daily language interaction. For example, during our academic centers, we use the puppets to ask our students their name. My students love interacting with the puppets. The puppets really help to facilitate language learning.
My students' reaction was priceless when they first saw the puppet theater and puppets! I made sure to put the puppet theater and puppets in plain sight. They were so excited when they saw the Paw Patrol puppets. I was surprised that I didn't have to show them how to use the puppet theater. One of my students took the lead and had his peers sit down on chairs. He got behind the curtain and said, "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, paw patrol show!" After that student presented his show, it encouraged his peers to do the same.
The next step for my students is to continue to develop conversation skills. We will be working on pairing up the students with puppets and working on their conversation skills. As an extra fun activity, we will encourage them to use silly voices with their puppets. The most important thing about our next lesson is to continue to have fun while learning.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Melissa
