  • Let's Go to the Market!

    Funded Oct 3, 2022

The Fresh Mart Grocery Store has been a great addition for my class! I believe play is the best way to learn and this grocery store has done the job. My students were so excited to play with the grocery store. Everyone had a special role to play (cashier, shopper, store clerk). My team and I assisted with taking turns with all the different roles. After modeling how to play with the grocery store, my students were able to imitate. The grocery store is helping my students to work on their language skills too. It is absolutely the cutest to see my students pretend play with the grocery mart. Thank you again for all your donations and support for making this project a reality.”

  • Let's Learn the Alphabet!

    Funded Sep 27, 2022

My class has been having so much fun exploring the alphabet sounds teaching tubs. We have been learning letters weekly. The alphabet sounds teaching tubs help my students identify objects that begin with the letter of the week. During academic centers, I use a mystery box to put all the letter objects in. I have every student take turns pulling out an object that starts with the letter of the week. My student pulls out the object and works on telling me what it is. After telling me what the object is, I help my students by telling them that object begins with the corresponding letter. My students take turns by passing the object to their peer sitting next to them. Every student has the opportunity to hold the object and work on their speech skills. Your support has played a key role in my students success to learn letters. Thank you again for your generous donations and support!”

  • Less Distractions

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

Thank you again for your generous donation. The room dividers have helped my students have less distractions. We use the room dividers during academic centers to block off distractions from other centers. My students are so focused and complete tasks without distractions. We also use the room dividers to separate developmental play centers. This has helped my students to play with specific toys and then rotate to the next toy. The room dividers have also set boundaries to help my students understand what is not available at the moment.

My students immediately noticed our new room dividers. They liked the bright yellow and green colors of the room dividers. The room dividers have helped my students to visually see and understand classroom boundaries. My students will even point out if their peers are in the wrong center because the room dividers separate each developmental play center.

The next step is to use these room dividers during gross motor activities. The room dividers will be great to separate gross motor activities for my students to work on. The possibilities to use these room dividers are endless. Thank you again for your contribution!”

  • Let's Talk!

    Funded Oct 12, 2021

My students and I are loving our new class puppet theater and puppets. We use the puppets on a daily basis to introduce letters, numbers, colors, shapes and to promote daily language interaction. For example, during our academic centers, we use the puppets to ask our students their name. My students love interacting with the puppets. The puppets really help to facilitate language learning.

My students' reaction was priceless when they first saw the puppet theater and puppets! I made sure to put the puppet theater and puppets in plain sight. They were so excited when they saw the Paw Patrol puppets. I was surprised that I didn't have to show them how to use the puppet theater. One of my students took the lead and had his peers sit down on chairs. He got behind the curtain and said, "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, paw patrol show!" After that student presented his show, it encouraged his peers to do the same.

The next step for my students is to continue to develop conversation skills. We will be working on pairing up the students with puppets and working on their conversation skills. As an extra fun activity, we will encourage them to use silly voices with their puppets. The most important thing about our next lesson is to continue to have fun while learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Melissa

The puppet theater and puppets that I am requesting will be a great addition to our developmental play centers. The puppet theater and puppets will encourage my students to work on their language skills. During developmental play, my students will be able to choose a puppet of their choice and work together and develop conversation skills. They can bring these puppets to life by using their imagination and language through play. By donating to this project, you will help my students to use their imagination and improve social interaction. I currently have one puppet that is part of the preschool curriculum and my students enjoy interacting with it. I use the puppet to model language for my students and it always captures their interest. I have seen a huge improvement in my students' language when I use our classroom puppet. I hope that with the puppet theater and additional puppets, my students will continue to develop their language skills.
