As a special education teacher, my students often require additional attention and materials in order to succeed in the classroom. I want my students to learn vital skills, such as planning, organizing, and advocating appropriately. These materials, specifically the binders and organizer chart, will allow me to model organization for my students. The majority of my students come from low-income households and these materials will allow them to focus on curriculum, instead of worrying about purchasing new materials. Moreover. many of my students with gaps both large and small. For example, many students struggle to tell time, identify key academic vocabulary, and count money. These materials, such as the vocabulary words, laminator (for additional vocabulary words), and coin chart will help me close these gaps. As a teacher, I constantly am looking for understanding from my students. One way I do this is through white boards. I ask a question and have them write their answer on the small white board. They then hold the white board up and I am able to check their answers. Many of my students are frequently accused of wrong doings both inside and outside of school. If a student is caught in the hallway without a pass, they are reprimanded. Many students forget to ask for a pass, drop it, or lose it. The lanyards make the pass clearly visible and ensures that my students can pass through the halls without a problem. I aim to create a welcoming and engaging classroom for my students, please help me make this year excellent for my students!
