My students attend a small elementary school located in northern California. My students are 4,5, and 6 year-old kindergartners that come from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. The kids have a broad range of academic and social skills however each one is working hard to learn new ideas and become fantastic learners. Recently we have begun introducing more lessons based on science concepts. The kids are excited to be given opportunities to learn new ways of looking at the world however it is often challenging for them to fully comprehend how these lessons relate to their everyday world.
