Reading is Learning in Every Classroom
Funded Sep 18, 2024With your help we have been able to put books in the hands of students in our math classroom. We feel providing literacy instruction across all curricula gives students the best chance of succeeding.
The particular class set of books you helped us purchase will help students not only engage in reading, but also reinforce mathematics standards taught in eighth grade. This reinforcement is specifically important for my Math 1 students. These students skip eighth grade math and take high school math their eighth grade year, so they need every opportunity to see eighth grade material throughout the school year as it strengthens their foundation.
We have most enjoyed read aloud time in class and discussing the plot of the book. Reading about the main character navigating the trials of middle school has also been enjoyable and sparked productive conversation about perseverance and integrity. Thank you for providing us this unique opportunity to learn and grow as scholars and individuals!”

Funded Mar 5, 2019First of all thank you so much for helping to fund our classroom's project. My students and I have thoroughly enjoyed the supplies and alternative seating that your donations have provided. My students were so excited upon unpacking these supplies. We had a mini Christmas and immediately got to work putting together chairs and inflating yoga balls.
The alternative seating opportunities that you have provided to us are amazing. Daily my students take advantage of the yoga balls and camping chairs in the classroom to work in groups or at their seats. The yoga balls provide a great way to get out excess energy and the camping chairs are comfortable alternatives to the hard plastic chairs they sit in regularly. The clipboards are frequently used for group activities and scavenger hunts, as well as classwork completed in a camping chair, or other alternative seating selection.
As we continue to move forward into next year, my students will continue to use these supplies to make the classroom a more comfortable and welcoming place. Thank you for helping make my classroom somewhere that students want to be.”
