Computers play a huge role in the workplace today. To equip students with the 21st century skills that they need, it is absolutely necessary that they learn to type and conduct research on computers. Unfortunately, due to the shortage of computers that my school has, students are limited in their ability to practice their typing and access research. As a teacher, I am limited in the projects I can assign and activities that I can do to increase engagement. Additional computers would increase student engagement by providing differentiation through the use of apps that students can use to express their learning like Kahoot, Google applications, Rosetta Stone, and Duolingo. Additional Chromebooks would also help me save on copies, because I often go over my allotted copies for the month with all the copies that I have to make since they can't access the materials online.
