There are many books in our classroom, some are housed in crates. It is more difficult for children to choose when they are not easily accessed. It is also more difficult for the children to be responsible for the care and organization of the classroom library. The additional bookcases for my classroom will provide organized space for the book bins. Book bins are sorted by genres, authors, and reading levels. Fourth graders very often will want to read a book series written by an author or sometimes they need to focus their book choice to a specific reading level. The shelving for organizing the book tubs will make their choices quicker. Additional comfortable seating in the reading area will allow students to enjoy their reading time. Flexible student seating creates a real-world reading center and is, therefore, encouraging my students to be livelong readers!
