What Summer Reading Slide?
Funded Jun 2, 2020Within reading the texts, students were able to extend all their learning they did this year. In the nonfiction text, students were able to add onto their knowledge about animal adaptations. Additionally, students were able to explore new animals; ones which we did not learn about this year. In the fiction text, students were able to continue to complete character analysis. They were able to identify how the characters changed from the beginning of the story to the end.
In our classroom and school, we complete a lot of shared reading activities. During the summer, the students were able to indulge in these books independently. They were able to facilitate their own exploration and comprehension of the text. This was a great experience for these students, especially during such a hard time in their lives.
Students enjoyed being able to have a physical book in front of them during this summer, and they have you to thank. This may be a gift which students never forget. Thank you for your generosity, we all appreciate it.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Giarrizzo
