Ironically, students today are still using composition notebooks as math and science journals. Writing and illustrating by hand is a challenge for many students, especially ELL students. We live in a digital world and now have the ability to provide students with an interactive digital portfolio. These portfolios can contain videos of labs, tutorials on topics, creative presentations, web links and so many other possibilities! These tablets become collaborative tools that helps document the students work. Their work will be shared with their fellow classmates and parents. Once their work is posted the students have the ability to work collaboratively from a distance. Each student can work from a different location on the same project at the same time. It is amazing.
