Basic Needs!

Help me give my students basic necessities for everyday life. Often my students need to leave the classroom for these materials and I would love to supply them for them here!

  • Buy it with GOOD Behavior!

    Funded Dec 31, 2024

Thank you so much for helping our classroom! So far, we have used the classroom store to reward several different activities. We were able to reward the students for making growth on their assessments. We are also able to use the rewards for behavior! When students show effort, engagement, and appropriate school behavior, I am lucky to be able to reward them with a variety of things for them to choose from.

Among their favorite items are the candy (of course! LOL!) and the slime kits. However, they are very into the 3D puzzles, as well.

Thank you again for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Adams

  • Say What?!

    Funded Nov 16, 2024

Thank you so much for helping my students use their technology appropriately. My students' faces lit up when the headphones arrived. Because of the headphones, we are able to focus on our work without the distraction of others playing their devices out loud.

These headphones are a good quality headphone that will last the rest of the school year and hopefully, beyond! Our class uses a variety of applications for our learning and almost all of them require audio. It has helped us tremendously to be able to hear directions and/or have things read aloud such as questions and assessments.

We cannot thank you enough for your generosity and for helping our classroom function smoothly!”

  • Organize and Incentivize!

    Funded Aug 8, 2024

Thank you so much for helping our classroom get off to a great start this year!! Students have been very motivated by the incentives that were available to them due to this project getting funded. Their favorite motivator are the Smencils that they can earn by showing great behavior throughout the week!

Our classroom is also so organized, and everything is easy to access, thanks to your generosity. The students store their math materials in their seat back pockets for easy access and use the black book bins for storage in the cubbies. It has made life in 3rd grade so much better!”

  • Bright & Colorful!

    Funded Apr 2, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. I am so excited to start using these markers. They are so vibrant and I know the students will love the anchor charts that we create and hang around the room.

Anchor charts are such an important way for students to put their thoughts and paper and recall what we have learned. Any time they need help remembering how to do something, they simply go to the anchor chart for a quick reminder. My hope is that students are drawn to these posters due to their pops of color and use them more and more.”

  • Treats for Testing!

    Funded Jan 19, 2024

Thank you so much for helping me celebrate my students and reward them for a job well done during our CMAS testing. These tests are long and they require a lot of focus for our students; being able to supply them with a little treat each day has been wonderful and has lifted their spirits! I think a favorite day was the "smart cookie" day where the kids got to start their day off with a cookie! They also loved "do your BEARy best" where they got to eat gummy bears. Thank you again for your kindness!”

  • Clean, Warm, & Full in 3rd!

    Funded Jan 8, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. The day that the warm clothing arrived it happened to be VERY cold here and the kids were so thankful to have some warm gloves, hats, and gators to keep them warm!

We have also made it a classroom job to vacuum around the room. The kids have loved using the "old fashioned" push vacuum and they are shocked that it actually works. They also love the job of the mini vacuum that gets in all of the nooks in our room.

Finally, I was able to use the snacks you provided to make a very nice 100th day of school celebration. None of this would have been possible without your help!”

  • "Just Right" Books for Third!

    Funded Aug 27, 2023

The second the boxes of books started rolling in the kids were so excited!! Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. Your donation gave my students access to so many books they would have otherwise not been able to read as we don't have these books in our school library.

The fact that the books are graphic novels make reading more fun for my students. They gravitate toward these types of books and I truly believe that it sparks a love of reading for them, as the pictures make the stories come to life.

    Thank you again!!”

  • New Math, New Tools!

    Funded Jul 7, 2023

My students have had such a great start to the school year! We have all of the supplies we need to be successful in math this year and that is because of you!! We would like to thank you for supporting our classroom and helping us be mathematicians!

We have used the centimeter cubes to help us understand both multiplication and division. We use our Rekenrek daily to do counting activities for warm-ups. We looks forward to using our scales later in the year, as well as our tape measures and place value cards.

Again, we appreciate you so much!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Adams

  • More Math Manipulatives!

    Funded Nov 28, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. The students have been using the magnetic fraction pieces regularly to understand how to compare fractions, decide which is a larger fraction, and/or find equivalent fractions. The magnetic base 10 pieces came in handy for modeling how to build numbers with the lower grades and how to add and subtract numbers with the upper grades. We have geometry units at each grade level as well and the students used the shapes to describe attributes and build pictures. Thanks again for helping my students learn!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Adams

Our students are lucky enough to have one-to-one Chromebooks provided by the district, but what we need with that is a good pair of headphones! All too often, families send their children to school with headphones that break or stop working easily. I am looking to stop families from purchasing headphones and provide students with a quality pair that I can use year after year. A dependable pair of headphones can change the dynamic of my classroom and provide students with one less issue when it comes to their learning. They are so engaged when they are learning on their devices and these headphones would stop their learning from being interrupted.
