With theses materials, we will be able to create hands-on literacy activities to engage the wide rage of children in our class. Currently we are learning about buildings, which the book "The Three Little Pigs" story and puppets fits in perfectly with. Using the puppets we will be able to have the students help act out/retell the story while keeping the rest of the class engaged by watching the puppets. For the students who are ready for more of a literacy push, they will be encouraged to "read" and act out the story without teacher assistance. building up their pre reading and comprehension skills. We will be able to continue making literacy interactive by using the books and puppets for "Little Red Riding Hood", "The Three Billy Goats Gruff" and the "The Three Bears", all of which are part of the the Let's Talk Storytelling Puppets set. The Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Tree will allow students to act out the story as well as use all of their senses when learning the letters.
