  • It All "Adds" Up

    I want to thank you so much for helping my kiddos develop a love for math! When the materials arrived in a huge box, the kids couldn't wait to see what fun things they would be doing during math stations. The materials you helped me purchase, have made a huge impact in our classroom. The students are mastering number sense skills, addition and subtraction, number writing skills, and most importantly, they are building confidence in math. One of their favorite stations, is the number writing station. Most of my students are already writing numbers to 100 and beyond! For a 5-6 year old, that's amazing!!   • Math, Math, and More Math!

    Thank you so much for all of your generous donations. All of your donations went towards NEW fun and engaging math stations that we use daily to work on various skills. Each day students participate in two math stations where they get to work with a partner to practice new math skills and skills previously taught. During stations it is less structured so students have time to explore, problem solve and learn/teach each other.

    We were sitting in class when two huge boxes were brought down to our room. Of course, this was a big deal so we had to stop our lesson and open them. It was like Christmas morning! Students were so excited to open and use the stations right away. Adding a few new math stations to our daily practice made a huge difference! Students were excited about math! They were learning and playing at the same time! Again, we can't thank you enough! We will definitely have some math mathematicians this year!

I have created stations based on important math concepts (counting, number identification, money, time, graphing, sorting, addition, subtraction, etc.). Students work with a partner at their work station while I work with students individually or in a small group at their current level specific to their learning needs. My students love work station time; however, I need more materials to keep it exciting, fun, interesting, and meaningful. I do not want my students to get bored with stations throughout the year and I need new materials to add to the stations as their knowledge progresses. These games can be used during stations daily, as well as during small group instruction, with an instructional assistant, or with a parent volunteer. These games can be used for many years. Your donation to this project will help my kindergarten students learn important math concepts while having fun! I feel that it is very important to keep students interested and excited and to make learning fun. Your generosity can help all of this happen!
