I think the thing that most excites my students and I is the fact that we now have basic supplies in our class. Folders, pens, and things like this are your basic school supplies that we have to do without. Being an alternative school we are often forgotten and always underfunded. I have not had a request for a supply order in five years. Imagine your job not providing you with some of the most basic things required to do your job, that's life in alternative schools.

The technology that we've found most useful is our headphones. They are needed for our students to complete their online classes and lessons. They have to watch and listen to videos to learn pertinent information for the assessments following the lessons. Having these headphones enables the students to focus themselves into their lessons and finish their classes at a faster pace.

Our folders and hanging file folders allow students to keep track of the work they've completed in the form of a classroom portfolio and allows them to collect current work in a single location. This organization and ability to display their work is a self esteem booster. Our goal is to get our students engaged in school and keep them interested in furthering their education. Being able to display their work is key to this!”
