My students have been learning all about matter! Students will be using these scales to learn how matter cannot be created nor destroyed. The original parts put together will equal the final product. Students will also be able to further their understanding of weight and mass. By using these scales, the students will be able to decipher between the weight of individual objects as well as being able to add the weights together. This will allow them to more fully understand the concept of matter being moved but not taken away. It will also help them physically see that matter cannot be destroyed, only changed.
