  • Learning With Loose Parts!

    Thank you for adding to our loose parts collection! My students were extremely excited to see all the new materials that were added to our discovery center.

    They started off by exploring them in groups and I have already seen the my students become creative with these materials.You will see that some children made faces out of wooden pieces, soup, structures, and even used them as instruments.

    I love that my students are able to build, design, and manipulate these loose parts in a variety of ways. The possibilities are endless!

  • Learning Through Play!

    First and foremost, I want to thank you again for your generous donations! Most materials arrived during spring break and I was excited to show my students all the new books we received for our library center.

    My class loves all of Eric Carle's books and we had a few that were very well loved and needed to be replaced. When they saw that we received a new copy of Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?, they all clapped! As we browsed some of the new board books, a few friends were excited to share that they actually had some of the books at home. Thank you for helping foster a love for reading!

    They were also super excited to build with the playstix! The table toys center filled up quickly once they saw that they had something new to explore. With the touch and feel mystery capsules, we were able to revisit our unit on the five senses. They were curious to know what they were feeling and this led to an investigation on finding other objects that also felt soft, hard, rough, etc.
