Fun New Books!
Funded Nov 5, 2019Thank you so much for this generous donation! We are obsessed with our new books and have loved using them since the minute we got them.
These new books have set up a foundation for reading. They are classic books that I have loved sharing with these students. They have enjoyed reading them by themselves as well.
Many of the students are beginning to develop a love of reading through these books. When we have time to read at our desks, our new books are the first one off the shelves in our classroom library.
Thank you so much again for your generous donation. I really appreciate it!”

Scoring New Books!
Funded Oct 4, 2019We are so appreciative of these new books. My student's have been loving them and I feel so grateful for your generous donation.
Some of the skills introduced in these new texts are very basic reading skills. The children are able to decode the words in these picture books and are able to start blending the words to begin reading. These are key reading skills and are apart of an important foundation that will help these kids become life longer readers.
I have also taught many science and social study lessons based on these books. They have helped teach my class about plants, life cycles, friendship, kindness, manners, etc.
We have been able to read these together as a class and then my students get excited to read them by themselves. Everyone has been loving these new books and they have really enhanced our classroom library! Thank you so much!”

Mrs. Alvey
Listen Up, We Need Listening Center Books!
Funded May 16, 2019I am beginning to teach students the joy that comes with reading. Many of my students are creating a foundation for life long learning. Some of the skills the students will gain from these books are beginning sounds and sounding out words. As they listen to the book being read to them, they are able to follow along. They will then be able to identify these words that are being read to them and will be able to start reading along out loud with the listening center.
We read often in my classroom and we use it as a reward. Reading is such a treat and we are so lucky to have these new books to enjoy. Thank you so much for your generous donations.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Alvey
Enjoy a Good Book!
Funded Feb 7, 2019Our class is so grateful for your donation. We have been so lucky to apply a new skill to our reading as we are able to listen to books on CD's now. Because reading is a foundational skill that is important in these early years of education, we are now able to benefit by having students read more complex text on tape. They love to enjoy these books that are a little above their reading level and are able to follow along to start reading more advanced text.
Everyday, the students get a new listening center book and are able to track the text and follow along to what they are hearing. It is so fun to see their faces light up with fun new stories to listen to everyday. They love to be able to read in a group and share these fun experiences. Thank you for providing life long learning in our classroom. The children and I are extremely grateful!”

Mrs. Alvey
