I really want my class to be able to feel, touch, and see what they are learning. For this reason, I requested Ancient Civilization posters for Social Studies to place on our focus wall. I want that to create some interest about what we will be learning throughout the year! For Science, I found some chemistry molecule sets that we can build together as a class for deeper understanding of protons, neutrons, and electrons within elements and molecules. For Math, I have chosen some magna-tiles to illustrate nets and surface area of 3-dimensional shapes. That unit is one of the toughest for my students, and having a hands-on way to show them how it works would be great! In addition, I have many ELL students in my class, so I chose many simple games and manipulatives for language arts that can help increase their English vocabulary.
