The magnetic place value kits and math boards will help the students understand the value of two digit numbers. In addition, students will be able to use hands on learning to apply their new knowledge to solve two digit addition and subtraction. The story telling kits will help students learn story formats (characters, setting, events), retell, cause and effect, and summarizing, which are all very important comprehension strategies. Students will love using the sight word center to increase their knowledge of sight words as well as creating complete sentences, which are both necessary skills for all first graders to master.
