An Immersive Literary Experience in World War 2
Funded Jan 3, 2024Thank you so much for your generous donations to my 6th grade classroom. The impact this project has made on my students is immense. As students have been reading these novels connected to World War 2, they have been profoundly impacted. So many have questioned if these stories are really real, and are shocked to learn more about the real people and real events that took place during World War 2. They are making connections to current world events, and are learning so much from history.
In addition to learning more about history, they are so invested in the stories they are reading, that they don't want to stop. They want to continue reading page after page, because they have to know if their main character is going to survive, going to be ok. It has fostered a love of reading that many of these students didn't have before. They have now realized how books can take them on a journey, can teach them history, and can teach life-lessons applicable to them today.
Without your donations, none of this would have been possible. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Not only have your donations impacted my 6th graders this year, but will go on to impact my students for years to come.”

Mrs. Larsen
Increase Foundational Skills Through Hands-on Learning
Funded Jan 26, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donations to our class! When our new games and materials arrived to increase our hands-on learning, the students were so excited! In fact, they could hardly wait for me to get the packages open to start using them.
In the years of the pandemic, our second graders did not get to finish their Kindergarten year in a normal way, and we definitely see the impact that has had on their learning. Some of the basic foundational skills they should have solidified in Kindergarten and first grade have been seriously lacking, and those gaps just weren't being filled in as we teach our regular grade-level curriculum. Through the use of the Power Pen practice materials, students were able to work with a hands-on activity to go back and practice phonics skills, as well as basic math skills, that they had been missing. It's made a tremendous difference for our students!
We cannot thank you enough for your contribution to our learning this year!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Utah State Board of Education.Engage with STEM!
Funded Feb 19, 2019Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom! The day I unpacked the box of our new STEM supplies, the students were so excited and could not wait to use them.
We have been able to use these supplies for multiple STEM projects since receiving them. Before, it was so difficult because of the constant need to buy supplies. These materials are the best because they are reusable and so versatile.
One of our favorite projects was when the students were challenged to build cars. They were so engaged and excited. They've never worked together as well as they did that day!
Our next project is to see who can provide the stability and support to build the tallest tower. The kids have been working in groups to gather information, strategize, and create a plan. Next they will work to build their towers, and they cannot wait!
Once again, thank you so much for your kind generosity. You have brought an abundance of STEM activities into our classroom, and we are so grateful!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Larsen
