  • Mental Health Resources for Teens

    Funded Sep 8, 2023

I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kind and generous donation to my classroom. Your thoughtful gift will provide mental health and wellness resources to a very deserving group of young people. I am truly overwhelmed, and my students will be, as well.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Bell

  • Welcoming Environment for Teens

    Funded Dec 31, 2022

My students have greatly enjoyed the items purchased with your donation. The most popular items have been the scented putty which they use as a fidget (particularly helpful to keep them off their phones) and the markers. My students have been enjoying coloring this year, to help them stay focused and as a calming strategy. The students have become very protective of "the good markers."

My students and I thank you so much for helping us to have a more inviting space to spend our time. Words cannot fully express how much joy this has brought our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Bell

  • Flexible Seating Options for High School!

    Funded Dec 30, 2022

I want to thank you so very much for your generous gift to my students. Thanks to you, our little classroom will be that much more homey and inviting. My students and I will appreciate the comfy new workspace. Even more importantly, my students will learn about giving to others.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Bell

My classroom has old-style attached desks as the only seating option. Not only are these desks not comfortable, but as we do a lot of project-based learning in my class, the students do not have adequate space to spread out out their materials for work. I think flexible seating would make my classroom a more inviting and comfortable space for learning. I like the idea of giving my students the option to choose seating that is comfortable for them. I have recently implemented some flexible seating options with materials that I have been able to secure for little or no money. Our classroom's new "comfy spot" has been a big success, but I only have one space for 10-12 students (per class). I have chosen a futon for 2-3 students to work collaboratively on projects. I also have picked several different stools for portable seating, I chose these for students who are more comfortable sitting higher up. Lastly, I have asked for a beanbag chair with a back for students who may want to sit in a quiet corner to work.
