These white boards are essential to help my students work out concepts and practice in a bold and quickly editable way! For example, in AVID, we have tutorials where students normally work on large shared white boards in order discover how to problem solve in STEM and ELA. In AP Lit, students normally work out thesis statements, grammar concepts, and other critical thinking activities. However, with COVID restrictions, now students will not be able to share whiteboards if we are in person, but I still need a way to see their thinking and quickly correct it! Right now, we are online, but with these whiteboards, students can still work out their ideas and hold them up to the camera for quick feedback, and the dark ink and bold strokes of the whiteboard marker will help the whole class see the work (versus a scribble on a paper). After a month of online school, I can see that these resources are going to be essential. I am making academic care packages I can safely drop off at each student's house or have them pick up at a safe, socially distanced drive up and grab and go!
