Kindergarten students learn best through doing, playing, and using manipulatives. In a normal year, students are sharing magnetic letters on shared alphabet mats, stamping sight words, and sharing resources in each literacy and math station. Unfortunately, Covid has brought all of this is a screeching halt. Despite this year's unique challenges, I am still determined to provide hands-on literacy and math station activities that engage my face to face and online students. Teachers Pay Teachers provides educators thousands of various activities that enhance each child's learning experience at school and at home. Because of the virtual nature of many Teachers Pay Teachers activities, both students in the classroom and at home will have access. In addition to the abundance of online station materials, Teachers Pay Teachers also offers hands-on resources that can easily be individualized. These materials can be printed and laminated, and each child will have their own literacy bin that contains their own personal station activities. These activities will keep their hands and mind busy while eliminating all shared materials. My goal is to keep kindergarten as hands-on as possible. The resources at Teachers Pay Teachers, paired with individual baggies of manipulatives and letters, can make this goal a reality for my students.
