Headphones For Online Learning
Funded Feb 25, 2020We are so grateful for your contributions to our classroom! The students were excited to have their very own headphones for online learning. Listening to audio books on digital library platforms has been easier for the students. They remained focused as they read books and magazines, and performed better on their comprehension quizzes. Having individual headphones meant less distractions and more concentration. The students also performed better on their math lessons and math assessments. Thank you for our headphones.”

Materials for Math and Literacy Centers
Funded Mar 28, 2022Thank you for your generous donations. The students and I really appreciate the materials sent to us.
During our daily math centers, students used the dry erase markers to draw models of their mathematical thinking. They modeled their understanding of multiplication and division using strategies such as equal groups, repeated addition and arrays. It was heart warming to observe as the students engaged in collaborative math talk with their partners!
The students really excelled in our opinion writing unit. The materials donated(purple
folders, pens, multi-colored filler paper and sticky notes) helped with our color-coded writing system. Students used the purple folders, which they referred to as their opinion folder, to organize their drafts, published pieces and reference materials. The sticky notes and colored pens were used to organize the reasons and examples related to their opinion topics. The students could not get enough of the colored pens. They felt like a 'grown-up' when using them. As we have left over materials, we will use them again next year.
Thank you, again, for your generosity.”

Headphones To Help Make Learning Fun!
Funded Jan 30, 2019Thank you for funding 'Headphones to Help Make Learning Fun."
Every student had a positive reaction to receiving their own headphones. They all commented that they were able to "focus better" and "pay closer attention" to their iReady, MyOn and Mathletics lessons.
With the use of the headphones, students were able to closely listen to letter sounds, blends, etc., on iReady lessons. As a result, I have seen an increase in passing scores on ELA lessons, especially those involving phonological awareness and phonics. As an added bonus, students did not have to sit away from their classmates for fear of disrupting their learning. They were able to sit in their regularly assigned seatings and partake in the various academic, online resources.
My students and I appreciate your generosity. Again, we are happy for the funding, and even happier that you've helped make learning fun again.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Gilbert
