My class library is lackluster at best. I have plenty of books, but they are books that are either falling apart or ones that just don't hold my students' interest. As a result, they claim that they hate reading. Students want to connect with characters who represent parts of their own identities. Therefore, I am asking for help in purchasing a plethora of diverse novels for my students to read and explore. I am hopeful that purchasing literature that appeals to one more aspects of a student's identity will help them connect to the stories on a much deeper level. Help me make an environment that fosters a love of learning through a love of reading!
