Currently, my classroom does not have color and black ink for our color printer. This color printer and ink will make a positive impact on student learning. When learning materials are printed in color ink, they are more realistic and easier for my English Learners to relate to and understand as they learn English as a Second Language. For example, when printing pictures to help build background knowledge, a color printer and ink will create pictures that are more engaging and interesting to look at for students. This will especially help my learners in the areas of Science which is a non-fiction subject with many tier two and tier three words. In addition, this will help my learners in mathematics as they can see pictures and graphs in color to support their understanding of math concepts and word problems. The color and black ink will allow my students to print written research reports on the topic of their choice and print a picture that accurately shows what they researched in science. When they present their topic to their peers they will have a picture that is printed in color.
