All of the pieces that I am asking for are to help my students with reading and language. Three of the items that I am asking for are technology based. I am asking for these to bring something different to the classroom. Students in my class are skilled with different technology pieces such as the TV, internet, and smart phones. I want to give my students a chance to learn differently with a way they feel comfortable using already but are unable to use in the classroom. Technology is becoming the world around us. Everyday we use technology pieces to advance our knowledge and relationships with others. Connections are made when we become hands on with materials and are able to connect to the lesson or skill through passion. Among the 24 students in my class, we have only one piece of technology that we are able to use and that is a single computer. I want to be able to give my students more and I would love it if I was able to use technology more in the classroom to help my students. I also know that the things I have asked for would help my students that do not know English by introducing words to them by listening to the words/stories and basic sight words and letter sounds.
