Funded Nov 20, 2019I can't explain the difference this resource made in my classroom. My students were so thrilled to have these manipulatives and I was able to use them in a variety of ways. I used them as shown in the photographs. I also was able to make copy of the worksheets where the students took some home as their homework. When they returned the next morning they grabbed a versatile and we're able to self check and self correct. The most inspiring thing how ever was how grateful they were and how responsible they were in handling this manipulative. Always ensuring that all the pieces were in the correct spot and nothing was missing. This project showed my students that people will give what they can when it's needed and that truly was the best lesson that came out of this. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!”

Funded Jul 3, 2019I can not express my gratitude for the donations you made to my students. The packages arrived in the middle of the school day and the students were as excited as you can imagine! I just had to stop all instruction and open them up. It was so amazing to be able to show them an example of how giving to others can have such a positive effect. It's so refreshing to see how each students needs are met on a daily basis. I explained to the students how difficult it was for me in school because I was very "jittery". I just didn't like to be in the same seat all day every day, instantly I saw in their faces that they could relate. The variety of seating has also taught them effective problem solving skills. Everyday they come into my classroom and pick their seat for the day, if someone is sitting in their preferred seat I allow them one challenge of Rock, Paper, Scissors, winner keeps the chair. They have learned that if they lose, they can't argue with each other, they simply pick their next favorite seat. As an educator, it is so refreshing to see this in action and to see the excitement on their face when they enter the classroom. One student told me when he's in the classroom he feels like he is home. As you can imagine, this put a smile on my face and a tear in my eye. That was my goal, as this project is titled, I wanted my classroom to be comfortable for all my kids, and to feel cozy, to feel like home. As an educator, I can't imagine having my classroom set up any other way. I can't put into words how you made my dreams come true, and how you showed a group of children that anything is possible, if you just try hard enough!”

Funded Jul 16, 2019I can not express my gratitude for the donations you made to my students. The packages arrived in the middle of the school day and the students were as excited as you can imagine! I just had to stop all instruction and open them up. We have been using all the goodies on a daily basis. My kids love them so much that most of the time they ask for indoor recess, so they can build with materials from our Stem Cart. The amount of collaboration that has occurred in my classroom because of this, has helped me build a strong classroom community. I even used these materials as part of my lesson on "Being a Good Citizen". I explained to the students that good citizens help others when ever possible, and a student himself even pointed out "the way your friends and family helped you get all these cool things for us to build with". It was so amazing to be able to show them an example of how giving to others can have such a positive effect. I am planning a lesson that involves building a roller coaster with carts in it. This will incorporate Engineering and Science as we learn about energy, Math as we use the properties of multiplication to figure out the capacity of their roller coaster , and technology as I am having them design and create their Theme Park Logo on a program online. Your generosity has truly added a new element to my classroom, and a change in my students views on the learning process that I am forever thankful for.”
