These materials will help us kick off and maintain for years to come, a unique job training program within the middle school. Students each week will take staff coffee orders and use the materials purchased to make and deliver the coffee to teachers and staff throughout the building.
This program will teach students work ethic skills, money skills, sanitation skills, and other career related skills.
Our Coffee Cart Club will begin to develop the skills all students need in order to become contributing and thriving members of society.
Teachers throughout the building will order their coffee or tea through a google sheet each Friday. Students in my room will then evaluate all of the orders and prepare the materials needed. Students will learn step by step how to make coffee, measure cream, sugar, and flavors, how to stir, label cups, lid cups and deliver. In addition, students will learn how to keep areas clean, work together, follow directions, and how to be kind to the teachers they are serving. This project will allow these life skill students to take pride in a meaningful project that will be recognized throughout the building.
Students will learn to organize, store, clean and restock the coffee cart materials that will be kept in the Rubbermaid Double-Door Storage Cabinet. Teachers and building staff will have the choice between ordering Folgers Classic Roast Ground Coffee, decaf coffee, and hot tea. Each of these options will be freshly made to order with the Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew 10-Cup Thermal Coffeemaker System. In addition we will offer both hot and iced coffee. Hot and iced coffee and tea will be delivered in Plastic Disposable Cups with Lids and straws to allow an easy clean up for our customers.
