Our library, through its FabLAB and sandbox, will give students a chance to be “makers.” For example, we have had students demonstrate to others how to make and edit videos using a “fast draw” technique and control robots with basic coding skills using our personal iPads. Trending iPad Apps are a focus of the FabLAB. Connected devices are shaping our world and coding language is one of the most widely used languages. Developing the logic and ability to code is a crucial skill set needed for future careers. A few of the coding apps that will be used: Swift Playgrounds, a top ten coding language used in the creation of Apps. Developed by Apple, it is an interactive coding curriculum designed for beginners to the most advanced. Lego Mindstorms uses coding to program the LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 robot.
