Le papier, s'il vous plait!

Funded Feb 20, 2019

We are so grateful for your generous donation to our class and to the World Language Department overall! Because of your generosity, we were able to have paper for the rest of the school year in order to support all foreign language learning. This included but is not at all limited to handouts, notes, worksheets, projects, and realia. In addition to our department teachers, our students are also grateful and have greatly benefitted in that they have tangible resources with which to practice and to learn.

We have had countless lessons, activities, and projects in which we have incorporated your paper donation; in fact, the paper is used on a daily basis! Last month, we took a virtual tour of Paris and all of its districts (called 'arrondissements') and students were able to more deeply explore one district, become an expert on it, and teach their classmates! We also incorporated culture into our units and watched excerpts from a film called "Les Intouchables," which allowed us to discuss how unlikely friendships can come to exist and benefit both friends! By the way, that film was recently remade and it is called "The Upside!" More recently, students have been learning about how to express their preferences- likes/dislikes/abilities/wants, etc., and what they want to do in given situations.

Through the end of the year, we will increase our vocabulary and communicative fluency mainly through working on the conjugation of regular verbs, then explaining what different people are doing in different situations and contexts!

Again, we are so grateful. Our learning and our students' progress would not be the same without you!”

With gratitude,

Ms. Jenn
