  • Resources From Teachers Pay Teachers In Spanish

    Funded Jan 17, 2023

I want to take the time to let you know how thankful I am for your donations! Our class has been full of engaging activities to support our math learning and Spanish. I was able to purchase fun resources from Teachers Pay Teachers to implement in the classroom. Some helped students see math in a different way, including fractions and area. For example, I purchased a fraction review activity in Spanish were students worked together in Google drive to place fractions in a number line. Some also helped integrate art with math and it helped decorate our classroom!

Additionally, I was able to find some Spanish resources that will continue to use with students. One resource included character trait information. It helped students learn new vocabulary words to describe characters in books we are reading and used them throughout the unit.

These are just some examples of the resources I purchased for my students with your donation! Again, thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Flores

  • We Love Books in Spanish!

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

Our 3rd grade class would love to tell you how much we appreciate the donated books to our classroom! With this donation, we were able to receive more diverse books in Spanish! Books in Spanish are always hard to find, so we cannot express how happy we are with these additions to our classroom library.

We love having more books to choose from during our independent reading time! We received books about our favorite fiction characters, like Captain Underpants and Stink. We also received non-fiction books in Spanish about our favorite topics, for instance snakes, ponies, and biographies. These are perfect for our non-fiction and biography reading units. We also very much enjoyed reading the fairytale comic books which will also be used and read again during our fairytale unit!

Once again, thank you so much for helping our Spanish classroom library to grow!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Flores

  • Spanish Books for Dual Immersion

    Funded Aug 21, 2020

Thank you so much for the Spanish books! I apologize for writing so late! This year has definitely been crazy and different for all of us. Fortunately, our class has been luckily to receive diverse Spanish books this school year.

Since we are learning from a distance, it has been a challenge to read all of our fantastic new books. I have read and introduced some of them, for example, Paco un niño en los Estados Unidos. This book allowed students to see another child's perspective as his like in the U. S. as an immigrant. Some students were able to relate to the main character!

As the year continues, we will take time to read out loud and have conversations about the diverse characters in each book. Thank you for letting me expand my students' library for our Spanish class.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Flores

My students love to play and use manipulatives in the classroom. But unfortunately, I do not have the tools they need to express their creativity. I want to start creating STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) Morning Tubs for my students. Each morning, as students come in, they will be able to choose a tub filled with LEGOS, Geosticks, Tinker Toys, or other fun materials to use as we get ready to begin the day. I will rotate the tubs each day so students will have an opportunity to use all of the available tools. With these STEM Morning Tubs, students will participate in cooperative work with their table group members. They will also have opportunity to talk, increase their language skills, share their creativity and continue to build relationships with each other. This will definitely help create a positive learning environment for all my students. With the STEM Morning Tubs, my students will be more excited to come to school, on time, every day! I want to encourage play time so that their imaginations, creativity, and energy does not go to waste. Morning Tubs will set the mood for the rest of the day, my students will be ready to learn! I plan on storing the materials in clear plastic bins so that we can keep our materials organized. In addition, not only will these be used as morning work, students can use them for indoor recess! I am eager to start creating STEM Morning Tubs for my students!
