We use the carpet daily for whole group lessons and as a place for the students to stretch out and read during center time. The students are able to participate with creating anchor charts, turn-n-talks, and shared reading while sitting on the carpet. The students love spending time on the carpet! It gives them a chance to learn and be comfortable at the same time! It also gives them a chance to build the classroom community when they have morning meeting, share outs, and class discussions all while sitting on the carpet! This particular carpet also gives them a space of their own!
