  • Listen Up! Our Pre-K Class Needs a Listening Center

    Funded Aug 29, 2019

    The listening center was a hit! The students love to go to the listening area to listen to a story and/or music free from distractions. Adding this listening center to my classroom has helped improve my student's language skills and vocabulary development.

    The listening center has also provided my students with fluent reading models and has helped teach critical listening skills.

    They love to listen to Dr. Seuss again and again. The more they listen, the greater the likelihood that they will learn new vocabulary words. The center has also allowed students to listen to new stories and songs.

  • Drama, Drama, Let's Play Dress-Up!

    There are not enough words to express my joy, gratitude, and thanks for your generous donations to my class project. My students and I are so very appreciative of your support for education. We are looking forward to receiving the dress up clothes and dishes for our Dramatic Play center. They will be a great tool as we continue to grow and learn in the classroom.   • In Living Color

    My students have been impacted tremendously having the colored printer that you were able to get for my classroom. They were able to see real photgraphs of things that they have never seen before. By using pictures, my students were able to follow rules and routines in and out of the classroom. Making games in color to teach letter and number recognition was more exciting than having it in black and white. I was able to print alphabet books to send home with students as well. There are many students in my class that are not proficient in English. I use many images, photos, and pictures to teach new concepts. These images are best learned as they naturally look. I only have access to a black and white printer. There are no color printers in the school. By printing out these images in color, the students will better understand what is being taught. When teaching letters and sounds, I am able to print images in color. This will better enhance student learning. It is so much easier to keep students focused when using colorful images, photos, and pictures.
