Cheer Students Will Tumble Into Your Hearts
Funded Mar 1, 2019Our cheerleaders and coaches are incredibly grateful for the continuous support for the first year of our program.
Cheerleaders have been able to use their new shoes to help improve their tumbling and stunting skills safely. They have the necessary support to complete their stunts safely without having to worry about slipping in their personal shoes. Students were very excited to have received the new shoes because it meant they could continue to learn to incorporate new tumbles and stunts into their cheer routines. They were able to successfully tumble throughout a routine at a community event which they worked incredibly hard to learn.
The next steps are to continue to build our program further and to teach our cheerleaders more complex routines. We are almost finished with our first full year so we plan on recruiting incoming 6th graders as well as encouraging more 7th and 8th graders to join our current squad. We are currently trying to fundraise for more supportive shoes for new members as well as to have some at the start of next year. We also want to start fundraising to send our cheerleaders to cheer camp over the summer so that they are able to connect with other cheerleaders and coaches in the community.”

Funded Jan 17, 2019Our cheerleaders are currently able to expand their performances by being able to stunt and tumble safely on our mats. They have been able to incorporate stunts and tumbles into our second assembly performance on the mats since we have received them. We are also planning a routine to perform at a TedX event at our district. Throughout the year, they have doing whole group cheers, but we have been able to break up into smaller groups for students to build trust and support for one another. They are building stronger relationships with one another because it requires them to work collaboratively with one another. They also have been able to create their own routines on the mats which allows them to be creative.
They were really excited when they first saw the materials because it meant being able to start tumbling and stunting which is something that they have been looking forward to for a very long time. They are able to able to grow tremendously as cheerleaders.
The next steps for our cheerleaders is for them to advance farther in their tumbling and stunting. We are doing basics currently, so they are going to push themselves even farther to strengthen their skills. We also have been able to get them supportive shoes so that they can perform to the best of their ability on the mats!”
