  • Hands-On Learning is Fun!

    Our class wants to extend a huge, "Thank You!" for your generous donations. In our school we have many students who lack the resources of books at home and in the classrooms. With your donations, I was able to have students choose some books to bring home and read to their families.

    In kinder, we learn all about book orientation, print concepts and how to read sight words in books! Students are asked to become sight word detectives while reading their books. We wouldn't be able to do this without your generous donations.

    We not only use books to bring home, but we also use them in our classroom during center time for independent reading, along with our whisper phones so that students can hear themselves read. Sometimes, students read to their buddies or to stuffed animals.

    We are more than grateful for our amazing leveled books that are meant to enhance our little minds.”

  • A Resourceful Classroom!

    We just want to send our gratitude to all who have helped create a resourceful classroom for our Kindergarten Class. We have been able to use these resources to enhance and develop our skills in: reading, writing, and phonics. We are a class of many visual and tactile learners who learn through the use of pictures and kinesthetic objects.

    We use centers in our classroom for reading. Students are able to choose a book that they are interested in reading and are able to read it to themselves, to a stuffed animal or to a friend. Some of the books that were donated are easy to read books for our little early learners. These make it easy for them to read known sight words and use pictures in the stories to guide their comprehension of what might be happening in the story.

    We have also received center materials for phonics. Students are able to use these for help with cvc words, blending and phoneme segmentation. They are just super happy to have received these materials.”
