  • This Just In: A News Broadcast for Students with Autism

    Funded Feb 15, 2020

Thank you so much for believing in my kids and their abilities! I can’t wait to tell my students about this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity they are going to have to be the stars of their own professional broadcast! Words can’t express the gratitude I feel right now, and I know my students feel it too!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Rob

  • Music for Self-Regulation in Students With Autism!

    Funded May 31, 2019

I wanted to sincerely thank you all for your thoughtfulness in helping to provide my students with the tools necessary to experience self-regulation through music. Given my population of learners, it means the world to them that others see the potential in them that we are all able to experience every day!

My students are now able to request music when they feel they need a break, and are able to communicate their needs so much more efficiently than in the past, where they would have to resort to harming themselves or others in order to have their needs met.

Thank you for having faith in those who need it the most!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Rob

For my students, self-regulation can often be a struggle. When their environment becomes too overstimulating, our children often respond by harming themselves, having meltdowns, or inadvertently hurting those around them. In my classroom, I work to teach students the coping skills needed to regulate their emotions and live successful lives in the face of these challenges. Your donation will provide my students with the resources necessary to learn self-regulation through music. Research has proven that music helps students with Autism develop positive coping skills, which is crucial to help them live their best lives. Through the use of music, my students will learn to take control over their emotions, despite the environmental conditions, and eliminate violent behaviors that stem from Autism-related anxiety symptoms.
