In my classroom, the learning environment is very different than most classrooms. My students have disabilities that hinder their learning. They never stop loving, growing and giving to others. Through my first year of teaching, I have learned more from them about loving others. I want to give back to them by providing wobble chairs, stools for flexible sitting. I also want to provide hands-on activities, for example: building tiles, building bricks, and also a codester curriculum that will help them gain confidence in their learning. The flexible seating will help my students focus on their learning and calm their bodies. The building tools will be used to create projects that will help them gain new skills through work with their hands. I am excited to start the coding curriculum that will help my students learn a skill that they could use in their future and help them learn new skills now. These items will help my students gain confidence in themselves and in their learning. As a student with special needs confidence is key. Abilities outweigh disabilities. Their ability to learn will increase by having the stools to sit on, items to build with, and ways to use their hands to learn. I want to give my amazing students the abilities to outweigh their disabilities.
