The benefits of teaching recorders in the general music classroom know no bounds. Obviously, scholars will learn first and foremost how to read music. Less obviously, however, students will be developing a sense of musicianship. We will be creating young musicians and giving them the ownership of practicing, playing, and performing their very own recorders. The donations to this project will allow me to implement a recorder curriculum, and improve upon these scholars general music education program. It will allow me to develop fine motor skills, allow me to help them develop breathing skills as they practice playing their recorders, and allow me to help them develop listening skills, as they constantly listen to myself play the recorder, listen to themselves play the recorder, and listen to their peers play the recorders. Adding recorders to the general music curriculum would also allow me to start teaching these scholars fundamental social skills. By practicing, playing, and performing, we would be giving these scholars the chance to put on performances with their recorders, giving them the priceless opportunity to get on stage and perform. All of this is only made possible with the help and support from you. Thank you!
