School Supplies for STEM Student Success!
Funded Oct 29, 2022Thank you so much for your generosity! My students and I are truly grateful. It means so much that people like you are willing to support our students at a time when it is so easy to feel isolated and like no one cares. Donors like you are proof that this simply isn’t the case. Your contribution will go further than you imagine as our students will be more able to do gage in ACT Prep activities and those related to college and career planning. Many thanks!”

They Really Need to Hear It Y'all!
Funded Oct 25, 2019Our school has recently been fortunate enough to embrace new learning platforms (Everfi, Nearpod, etc.) that help promote individualized learning with lessons that utilize story-telling, narrated explanations, engaging music, and other auditory strategies to help students progress. The benefit to us has been that many of these platforms include lessons that students are able to listen to and engage with at their own pace. The headphones donated by generous donors like you made it possible for students to take part in these lessons without disturbing or being distracted by others.
In addition to this, we have been able to incorporate "learning centers" into our class where students are able to be grouped according to the skills they need to remediate and/or perfect and work on these skills in the ways necessary while others work on as others work on the skills theirs. Having headphones in the classroom also facilitates this type of learning and progress.
Lastly, students have been able to listen to lo-fi music during independent work, which has provided a pleasurable experience for all. Thank you again for your generosity.”

Roots & Wings: The Best Gift We Can Give Kids
Funded Dec 29, 2018We certainly appreciate the resources that you have provided for our genealogy club, Finding Your Roots Ancestry Club. Every student now has a dedicated place to start and continue to develop their personal family history. They also have a way to save the resources they find online and those they record from taking their family histories. The students have been so engaged in this project and having an organized way to compile and store the information we collect is so key.
When we opened the boxes, it was like Christmas! We immediately began passing out binders, dividers, pencils, etc. Everyone was so grateful to have them already provided from the first day of the club.
We are currently working on completing our 5-generation pedigree charts and are challenging ourselves to find information about our ancestors and family members that we didn't already know. Students are anxiously searching the Internet, and the databases we have secured access to, thanks to donors like you, and learning about where their family is from, what their surnames mean, and what family members did in times past.
Thank you again for everything!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Clivens-Smith
