The books I am requesting will be used in small reading groups. The students will use the books to gain different perspectives on the world around them and to see examples of problem solving skills that might help. The students will have access to the books for research and disscussion purposes. The non-fiction text I am requesting represent a wide-range of new topics for the students to discover. They also give the students the vocabulary and power to discuss these topics. I hope that books are a springboard into new discoveries and interest. Students in my different classes will share the books and be able to read multiple titles. By requesting small batches of different books, I hope to encourage the students to share and communicate about the readings.
