Every morning the first thing we do as a classroom is come together for morning meeting. Providing my students with a clean, colorful, and interactive educational rug for the classroom is one way to get them not only ready for the day but excited to learn. Our class rug in front of the room is the students 'home base' where they come after every block of time throughout the school day to re-center and re-focus. I teach students on the Autism Spectrum and giving them a place that is consistent to come back to is important to their learning and overall happiness in the classroom setting. This past year I was provided with a rug that has been 'well loved' to say the least-it is held together with duct tape on all edges. My students deserve a clean and well-kept place to come to every day. This rug not only has clear squares where students can sit but also colors and letters for students to learn. Most of these kids come from challenging circumstances in an inner-city setting where school is a sanctuary for them. Please help us make their classroom an even better place to be!
