Funded Sep 18, 2024Thank you for supporting Woodrow film students as they work on developing their film skills. The work Woodrow students are doing will go towards their IB exams in the form of a film portfolio, thank you for helping them in their effort! The items donated help to create a classroom culture that celebrates hard work, and cultivates positive reinforcement. We have a growing hall of fame with student photos, seeing students get competitive in their education to earn a spot has been awesome.
I can't wait to debut our new blow up screen as we showcase student work. This will be a great opportunity to see what students have been working on. Hope to see you at this forthcoming event!

Can You Hear Me Now?
Funded Nov 27, 2023Thank you so much for supporting our film classes by providing new wireless microphones. My students were so excited, and I kept hearing the phrase "We get to use these??". Your donation elevates their experience and makes them feel special, rising to the occasion to create great projects. They will now be able to film unique and creative scenes without worrying about microphone cables and cords getting in their way. You are providing them with creative freedom to make their ideas possible.
The items not only inspire the students, but they have inspired me to think of new lesson plans that have been made possible by this donation. I can't wait to use these in our future lessons. The items have served 4 classes of students, and next year will be used by 6 classes. Thank you for supporting this year, and next year's students.”

Filming With Tripods

Funded Apr 6, 2023Thank you for your support of our project! My students were so excited to know that they were gifted items to help them take notes.
The supplies of notebooks has been so helpful, I am especially grateful that I did not have to fund this project myself. With your support it makes activities feel easier, and takes a burden off of students.
We were able to customize the notebooks so each student is able to identify their own, and write words that they want to achieve in themselves this year. Key words students picked were: risk taker, open-minded, and collaborative, amongst others.

Funded Sep 19, 2022At the start of this year, I received quiet requests for tampons, pads, tissues, and sometimes food. I'm grateful to my donors because now that we are halfway through school my students are comfortable and confident in knowing these items are here for them. A shelf has been provided by you to help students know where to find items. Clear plastic bins, means that students know whats on the shelf.
When my students first heard that I provide these basic items, they were happy. When girls rush in my room and point toward the shelf, they are always welcome in even if they aren't in my class. They know this is a safe space, and they can help themselves to what they need.
In the future, I am happy to help fundraise and supply items as needed, or as they become depleted. But I am so grateful for items like shelving and baskets, that keep my classroom tidy and neat while providing items that help students and make them feel comfortable. Thank you for helping to create safe comfortable spaces for students, as they learn to ask for what they need and advocate for themselves. thank you!”

Without your donations we would have been doing a lot of pencil drawings, and students would not have had the same opportunities to create wonderful new things. Paint their dream vacation spots, paint their emotions, recreate famous paintings, and have fun while studying at home.
Being able to give each student their own art kit was a shock to them, they didn't expect to receive a kit that was for their use only. No sharing required. I wish you could have seen their excitement at having their own supplies. I heard the comment, "ooo fresh art supplies" so often, and it really is an amazing feeling every artist knows. Thank you for giving my students that feeling.
I can't wait till I can see them return, and have them back in the class. till then I appreciate you and the thoughtful donation you made to 177 students!”
