In my classroom, we stress the importance of EXPLAINING YOUR THINKING, especially in math. Explaining your thoughts and choices throughout a problem to a group of peers is one way to enhance your understanding of a skill or topic. My learners would benefit from having a document camera because it will allow them to share their work (either from a poster, a notebook, or other means) by placing the work under the document camera and walking the class through the steps they took to solve a problem. A document camera will also support me in teaching by being able to model various problems to class while working on a task together.
