My students are excited about learning but they face obstacles that are out of their control. Covid 19 has changed the face of education for all, The virus is still prevalent in the community where my school resides. When my littles become sick they have to be home and therefore miss vital and sacred instruction time. Keeping them in the classroom is my objective. I hope to do this by purchasing protective products for our classroom, masks designed to fit their little faces, table dividers that slow the spread of germs, and tissues for sniffle noses. These products will insure my kiddos are in class where they do their very best learning. Bringing the focus back to learning, my littles are excited to read grade level texts, but many need more practice to get to that level. The newer reading apps and programs offer a read-to-me option that allows scholars to hear the story, learn it and repeat it, thereby reinforcing their comprehension and vocabulary development. However, these apps require working headphones and my littles do not have them. These headphones will insure my students have the materials to become better readers and thereby better learners. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.2.10 By the end of the year, read and comprehend literature, including stories and poetry, in the grades 2-3 text complexity band proficiently, with scaffolding as needed at the high end of the range.
