  • Kicking Off The Year With Social Emotional Learning!

    Thank you once again for donating to our 4th grade classroom. With the new printer that we received, my students are able to get the resources that they need to learn. I was able to print out math practice for them to do in the classroom. This creates a hands on learning experience for the students and we are so grateful!

    All the Social Emotional books was definitely the most exciting product for my students. They LOVE to read any chance they get. With these texts, we were able to have classroom community restorative justice circles and discuss on important life lessons that we should follow. Thank you for allowing us to have this experience with all these wonderful books!”

  • "Books are a UNIQUELY Portable Magic"

    The arrival of these books have brought so much joy to my students. With these books, I created a book tasting event. Students got a "taste" for these books by reading the blurb, reading the first few pages and looking at the titles. Students also participated in a author study where they studied an author's work through these different kinds of books.

    Reading in my classroom happens everyday. Students have flexible seating and are able to dive deep into their books. With the arrival of these books, students got the opportunity to look forward to independent reading.

    Students that weren't that excited for reading in the classroom are now asking when we are going to do independent reading time. They are also super excited about the non-fiction books. Thank you to all the donors who contributed!!!!”

Receiving these books would make such a huge difference not only in the classroom but for my students. When it comes time to do independent reading, students are not excited because they say how there aren't many books to choose from or they aren't interesting because they are out-dated. Some of my students don't even have books at home and as their teacher, it really saddens me because they do love to read but we are missing on those resources that will motivate them and enjoy independent reading time. All these books have been chosen with my students in mind. I've watched them read titles just like these, and I have also asked them what kind of books they would enjoy reading. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them also as readers and help them read at their own grade level. The best way and most effective way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students stronger in reading. Just thinking about their excitement when they see new books warms my heart with joy. I want to be able to give my students the opportunity to dream with their eyes open and get a taste of magic in their own hands. This project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
