My students attend a life sciences magnet school where they can focus on biotechnology, zoology, or pharmacology in their studies. Many of these students have aspirations to be in the medical field. By being able to diagram and visualize concepts in the classroom in life size, these students can bring their learning to life! In my classes, students trace the path of a drug through a human body from entrance to exit - they spend hours developing a story for their patient, tracing each other for their posters, diagramming and labeling organs, researching peer-reviewed articles, and outlining their findings. It makes their "patients" come to life to see them all lined up in the hallways once they're done! These supplies help bring difficult topics to life, and double as basic supplies in the classroom that many of the students can't afford.
