Students thrive in environments were play is embedded in cognitive enriching experiences. The uses of manipulatives and tools that facilitate play allow students to practice a skill, increase engagement and rigor. The amount of book accessibility has also been linked to students reading success. It’s specially important that ELL students have access to books in their primary language. The pocket sleeves will be utilized during math cooperative learning activities that will be transferred to centers. Student are more engage during guided math, if they use familiar games. Those games include, writing numbers in a race or spinning and writing the greatest amount. The magnetic letters will be utilized to play word games of sound manipulation, sight words, and spelling during classroom activities and centers. I want to create a comfortable and appealing classroom library with high quality books and bean bags. The bean bags will encourage reading and limit distractors such as too many kids on the carpet. I want to offer my students high quality books in Spanish and informative text. It’s important that my library has equal amount of books in both languages. Informative texts are a necessity for our project-based​ learning experiences as we enter the creating research and inquiry phase.
